Still Trying

I have waited long enough.

I am tired of having to wait.

To sit and think about the things that I no longer can bring.

This is becoming hard for me to achieve.

It is just like breathing.

It is required, but sometimes I wish I could stop.

Then realizing that one day it might.

I am okay with that.

That is at least what I say to the light, as it goes down at night.

Film

Today I have made a decision that will change my life forever. I have finally decided that I want to shoot a short film by the end of summer, I do not have script done yet, but that is my goal. I am writing this down so that I can have this post to go back on, and make sure I hold myself accountable for this. If I do not get it done, then it is on me. At the end will be a sample of what I am writing. Any help would be nice.

Amber and Daniel just got back home, after an anniversary for her parents. They walk into the house cut the lights on and have a conversation.

Amber

That was some kind of party wasn’t it.

Daniel

Yeah it was something I can say for sure. I do not know how your parents have been married for so long.

Amber

What does that supposed to mean?

Daniel

Nothing, I am just talking about how you know couples do not last that long anymore. They have been together over 40 years. That’s a long time.

Amber

Oh, yeah they have, but it does not seem like it. Do you want something to drink? I need to grab me some water.

Amber walks to the kitchen and gets some water

Daniel

Yeah can you bring me a cup of coffee. I have a lot of work I need to do tonight. That was decent party better than the one before

Amber (o.S)

Dan, I thought that we were going to cut out the coffee.

Daniel

Just tonight, I have to get ready for my big presentation that’s coming up. I want have too many. I promise.

Amber

Okay, sure.

Amber walks back into the living room carrying a sandwich. Daniel is now sitting at his desk flipping through papers.

Amber

Here you go baby. I know you might not eat it but just in case. Coffee will be ready in a minute.

Daniel

Okay thank you.

Amber takes a sit on the couch in the living room. Drinking her water, and she looks at the sandwich.

Amber

Wow, that was a lot. (she rubs on her stomach)

Daniel

What?

Amber

The little one is moving around a lot now. Do you want to see?

Daniel

Honey, not right now. I got to get this work done.

Amber then turns on the t.v. and it makes Daniel upset.

Daniel

Honey could you please?

Amber

Oh okay my bad. I don’t mean to make you upset. I don’t mean to be a bother.

Daniel

Now did I say that? Why do you always make things seem worse.

Amber

I mean I am just trying to have a conversation with my partner about the night we just had, but I can see that I am bothering you.

Daniel

I never said any of that. I just need to make sure that I am prepared for this presentation next week. So could you maybe watch that in the bedroom.

Amber gets up and walks back to the kitchen to check up on his coffee. While Amber is gone her phone lights up and it is her ex congratulating her on the baby.

Amber (o.S)

Hey babe, did you want anything else, besides this coffee.

Daniel

No I’m why is Jarred texting you?

Amber walks back into the living room with coffee.

Amber

What do you mean?

Daniel

He just texted you and said congratulations on the baby. How does he know?

Amber

Oh I ran into him the other day, and we got to talking about this and that you know.

Daniel

Okay, but why did you tell him about the baby. It honestly just slip.

AMBER

It was a mistake not a big deal. There is no reason to lose your cool about this.

DANIEL

Did I say I was freaking out. Did I say it

AMBER

No, but I know you Daniel. I know how you get with these things.

DANIEL

Amber why do you do that. You always assume, and you know how that freaks me out. I do not like that. Every time you assume something you assume wrong.
